PLAGUE PITS (CH)
Plague Pits sind ein Minimal Synth Kollektiv aus Bern und Zürich. Im Geist des Achtziger Kassettenuntergrunds spielen sie «cold wave for a heating planet» - Disco-Musik für das Anthropozän. Nach einer Reihe von selbstveröffentlichten Tapes und LPs erschien im Sommer 2025 auf YOUNG & COLD RECORDS ihr neues Album «Escalator to the Abattoir» - eine Platte, welche Texte über persönlichen und gesellschaftlichen Zerfall mit in frühem kontinentalen elektronischen Post Punk getränktem Minimal Wave verbindet. «Ein knisternder, unbarmherziger und brodelnder Klangkessel mit einer unverwechselbaren Persönlichkeit, der nahtlos das Klappern und Klirren industrieller Brachen, Kraftwerk-ähnliche, klinische Maschinen-Funk-Rhythmen, die abgehobenen Polyrhythmen von Cabaret Voltaire, die surreale Unberechenbarkeit der Residents heraufbeschwört der adrenalintreibende Dancefloor-New-Beat von DAF, Neon Judgment und Front 242, kombiniert mit einem nicht unbedeutenden wehmütigen melodischen Appeal im Stil des Euro-Synthpop» (Fabrizio Lusso, White Light//White Heat).

Raderkraft's sound breaks through genre boundaries with staccato drum machine beats, analog synths, and Dutch & German vocals. Somewhere between minimal synth, wave, and electro lies the distinctive sound of Raderkraft, the alias of musician, producer, and songwriter Willem Stinissen from Amsterdam. His passion for vintage synthesizers and drum machines, combined with a strong DIY ethos, has already led to several remarkable releases and performances across Europe. His sound was recently described as a modern crossover between Germany's 1980s DAF and Belgium's Arbeit Adelt! Armed with pulsating drum beats, driving basslines, and quirky vocals, Raderkraft takes you into an energetic moshpit of electronics and synthesizers.
